Engineer · Adventurer · Nature Enthusiast
I believe most people are fundamentally good. In 18,673 km of hitchhiking across Europe, strangers have shown me that over and over.
I'm also aware that this isn't a guarantee — luck plays a part, and as a man travelling alone I'm privileged: my experience isn't everyone's. But in times when the headlines give us every reason to distrust each other, this site is my evidence that kindness is out there, more often than we think.
I'm driven by adventure and the kind of experiences you can't plan. Overland to Siberia in 2020, three months in South America in 2024, Europe covered from north to south to west by thumb.
German by origin, engineer by training, currently studying Sustainable Energy Technologies at DTU in Copenhagen.
Enjoy the stories — and if they make you want to stick out your own thumb, my hitchhiking guide is the place to start.
Cologne to Irkutsk by land. Trans-Siberian Railway. COVID ended it in Bangkok.
Hitchhiked to Europe's northernmost point via the Swedish coast and Finnish Lapland.
From Europe's southernmost tip along the Portuguese coast to the westernmost point, then home.
Five days through the Balkans to the middle of Turkey — the last gap in Europe, closed by thumb.
Three months across Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia — Machu Picchu, the Amazon, the Altiplano.
Rode the Rhine with my brother at sixteen, with paper maps and no phones. One day ended up being 205 km.
2,000 km by camper at minus twenty, a frozen water tank, ice fishing and a reindeer farm.
Fez, the coast, Rabat: from the oldest medina in Africa to the most modern city.
North through the Baltic states. The weather turned, we cut it short, and a moose sign came home with us.
A €99 camper, two days up the Zugspitze, and the final night of Oktoberfest.
From my home city to Copenhagen, across Denmark and onto the electric ferry to Ærø.
The camper leg through the Dolomites and down to the coast before Tarifa.
Twelve days on the islands: a three-day traverse, Kvalvika and Ryten, a salmon from a bridge, and a helicopter home.
MSc Sustainable Energy Technologies at DTU, specialising in bio-based fuels. Plant mechanic by trade. Open to an MSc thesis in industry or at a university from Feb 2027.
