Every ride on one map
How it started
It started in 2018 with Bonn → Basel: my first time on the road. 4 hours 20 minutes of driving time, done in under six hours. I was hooked immediately — and that trip gave me my challenge: to cross Europe just by hitchhiking.
In 2020 I set off from Bonn on an overland attempt to New Zealand and hitchhiked the first stretch to Tallinn. For the big crossing I didn't have the time to do it all in one go — and I didn't need to: the fastest road from Cabo da Roca to the North Cape runs right past Cologne, less than 10 km off. So I split it in two at home. In 2024 I went north from Cologne to the North Cape, and in 2025 from Tarifa via Cabo da Roca back to Cologne — Europe crossed from its northernmost to its southernmost point, just by hitchhiking. In October 2026 I closed the last gap, Southeast Europe: Milan to Cappadocia.
